A Child’s Cry of Love for Her Mama

Kimberly Hahn said it beautifully: “For Catholics, worship is sacrifice. If you have the sacrifice of the Mass and you do not have a song,…verbal prayers, you don’t even have a homily, do you still have ‘worship’? Absolutely!

And we would never do a sacrifice of the body of Mary…

We offer her “hyperdulia”, we offer her special devotion; but it is a veneration, not worship.”

When I went to Baclaran last Wednesday after almost a year, I saw it! There it was!

So many children and even more kids at heart singing with great love to their Mama Mary — begging for help in all their needs, expressing their confidence that their prayers will be offered at the altar of Jesus through her, and thanking her for all the miracles that have passed through her hands from God Himself 🩵

It’s always so beautiful and inspiring to witness! There you remember that no matter how old you get, you are ALWAYS a child in the eyes of the Blessed Mother. She wants to love you, help you, teach you, and nurture you in the love of God until you are all together in Heaven 🥹In the same way, you just need to be loved by her 🩵

These are some of the lyrics of the song/prayer to Mary captured in this video:

“Fallen and weak, for God’s mercy we plead.

Grant us the shield of your mighty protection,

Measure your aid by the depth of our need.

Bend from your throne at the voice of our crying.

Look to this earth where your footsteps have trod.

Stretch out your arms to us, living and dying.

Mary Immaculate, Mother of God.”
