A Prayer to Open Your Heart

“Lord, I believe you have something for me here. I open myself up to whatever that may be.”

I found myself saying these words in my mind as I was walking to a lunch gathering for Catholic women that my friend invited me to.

We both didn’t know what to expect and didn’t know anyone there because her friend just invited her too…and her friend was also attending for the first time 😂 An open invitation on Instagram was the only thing guiding us.

I was walking into the unknown while God knew everything…He knows my deep desire for community and the looong journey I’ve been on to find a place to call ‘Home’.

Not gonna lie, I’ve resigned myself to disappointment after many different attempts everywhere 😵‍💫 So coming into this, I didn’t want to get my hopes up.

But you know, you really can’t escape the Holy Spirit 😂 These words somehow popped into my mind and it told my heart to soften and open up…

True enough, I needed that open heart to RECEIVE the joy & grace & warmth & vulnerability of the women whom God will be gifting me that day 💝 Their sharings hit home and their love for Christ & one another was palpable.

I came as I was, I was welcomed at the table,

I was free to receive, and my cup was filled 🥰

Had the Holy Spirit not given me this prayer, I would’ve entered feeling skeptical — sa simula lang okay ito, hindi rin magtatagal. I wouldn’t have seen the moment as God’s sweet response to my yearnings.

Have I found ‘Home’? Why am I seemingly rejoicing already after 1 meeting? I’m not sure…but I do know that, at least for now, Jesus still has something for me here and I will continue to say ‘Yes’ 😌

🌸“Lord, I believe you have something for me here. I open myself up to whatever that may be.” 🌸

Friend, our hearts are hardened one way or another; and our hearts are always longing too for that which has caused it to harden.

How is the Lord inviting you to open yourself up to Him?

Are you willing to receive all that He has for you? ❤️‍🔥

Blessed Mother, our dear Mama Mary, soften our hearts to receive Jesus 🩵
